As part of the ENGINE project’s ongoing efforts to align higher education with the needs and realities of rural regions, an online stakeholder consultation meeting was held on April 9, 2025, organized by FH Münster University of Applied Sciences.
The event brought together 20 representatives of local initiatives and institutions from the Münster region. Participants included community leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and public sector professionals, all actively involved in the development of rural areas.
The primary objective of the meeting was to present and discuss the Rural Development Potential Map for the Münsterland region, developed by the FH Münster team as part of the ENGINE project’s Work Package 2. This map offers a structured overview of the region’s local resources, innovation opportunities, and development challenges—serving as a foundation for designing education and training programs that are relevant and responsive to local needs.
The meeting fostered a fruitful exchange of insights, allowing stakeholders to validate, comment on, and enrich the findings presented in the map. The discussion also highlighted key competencies and knowledge areas required to support innovation and entrepreneurship in the rural context of Münsterland.
This collaborative consultation marks another important step in ensuring that the ENGINE project outputs—particularly the EDUPACK educational tool—are firmly rooted in the realities and potentials of rural communities across Europe.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue mapping and strengthening rural innovation together!
